The History of Château Paquillon: A Reinvented Heritage

At the origin of Château Paquillon, we find families deeply connected to the land of Saint-Émilion, wishing to perpetuate the precise practices inherited and passed down from generation to generation in the crafting of these wines with a world-renowned appellation.
The estate, located in Montagne, benefits from a typical clay-limestone terroir of the Saint-Émilion appellation, giving rise to balanced, powerful, and profound wines that are the strength of Château Paquillon’s vineyard. After many years of inheritance, the château was taken over by new owners...
A new Australian impulse

In 2018, husband and wife team Jenny and Grant King took over the estate. Arriving from Australia with a genuine passion for wine and French culture, they brought new energy to the property, marking a significant turning point in the château's history and providing a genuine opportunity for its development.

The couple is committed to thoughtfully restructuring the property, moving from planting one hectare of Cabernet Franc to launching HVE certification, while proposing concrete actions to preserve biodiversity (hedges, living soils, etc.) without setting aside the past and history of the wine château.

Between Tradition, Heritage, and Modernity

Situated on an exceptional clay-limestone terroir, typical of the Saint-Émilion appellation, the vineyard benefits from ideal conditions to produce balanced, powerful, and profound wines. This rich soil and mastery of traditional viticultural techniques allow Château Paquillon to reveal the full potential of its grape varieties, while respecting the environment and the natural cycle of the vine.

After many years of family transmission, the vineyard experienced a new breath with the arrival of new owners, eager to preserve the soul of the place while infusing it with a modern dynamic. This renewal of Château Paquillon is accompanied by a clear determination: to combine ancestral know-how with thoughtful innovation, continuing to produce wines of character that proudly embody the values of the AOC Montagne-Saint-Émilion.
