The wines of Château Paquillon are the result of meticulous work on the rich clay-limestone soils mixed with sand, typical of the Montagne Saint-Émilion appellation. Merlot remains the estate’s predominant grape variety, offering us round, generous, structured, and always balanced red wines. Introduced in 2020, Cabernet Franc, a renowned Bordeaux red grape, adds a touch of freshness and aromatic complexity.
Each vintage reveals its own character, with notes of dark fruit, soft spices, and a broad, silky palate. Château Paquillon favors elegance over power, finesse over exuberance, while preserving the generosity of the vine.
Château Paquillon conducts a rigorous selection of grapes, employs gentle and precise winemaking, and uses aging methods tailored to each cuvée.
Fermentations take place in concrete or stainless steel tanks, depending on the vineyard plot, with relatively short macerations to preserve the freshness of the grapes. Aging is done in tanks or barrels, more or less new, according to the vintage profile.
These steps are carried out with care and precision to craft the finest Bordeaux red wine.

Between history and modernism

In 2018, the couple Jenny and Grant King took over the estate. Coming from Australia with a genuine passion for wine and French culture, they brought new energy to the property, marking a true turning point in the history of the vineyard and a real opportunity for its development.
